Publish the monitoring notice before recording
The desktop app is installed with the company install key. Recording then follows the monitoring notice the company has published. Each employee is asked to acknowledge the current version.
What the notice is for
The notice tells people what is collected and how long it is kept. That includes schedules, categories, and any extra collection the company has switched on, such as file names or office-day checks. It names the information officer when one has been entered. This page is not legal advice. POPIA still applies to the company.
When a new version is published
Changing the monitoring settings publishes a new notice. Employees are asked to acknowledge that version. Until you are ready for that prompt, leave the settings as they are.
What staff can see themselves
An employee can sign in and open their own activity. They do not need a manager to show it to them. Managers see a wider record, and that access is limited to their teams when they have been given specific teams.
